Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord,
that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths. Isaiah 2: 5, 3c
In 1995 Fr. Michael founded Dominion Family Services, a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit, faith-based human service organization whose mission is to educate families by raising their consciousness to the measurable harm that is being done by allowing violence to exist in our families/ communities. While volunteering as a change agent in the community at the grass roots level and creating programs that change our violent paradigm, he has worked tirelessly to improve relationships between men and women.
After serving 32 years as a Protestant minister, Fr. Michael Orr was ordained an Anglo-Catholic Priest, January 15, 2006, on the commemoration of Martin Luther King’s birthday. As the Pastor of a local mission, Church of the Most Holy Trinity, he is responsible for teaching the historic view and doctrine of Catholic Christianity, which includes both faith and morals, for all Christians in the Metropolitan Detroit area. He is heavily invested in ‘promoting peaceful families’ through the reduction of violence in families.
Fr. Michael is married to Mrs. Tanya Orr. They are the parents of three children and four grandchildren. They believe that family abuse/violence is a plague on our society that must be eradicated. ‘If not us, then whom? If not now, then when?’ is their philosophy.
